1970s Waverly / Briard Barkcloth 5 Panel

$ 120.00

F. Schumacher & Co., a maker of exclusive European fabrics, launched Waverly Fabrics in 1923 to create a lifestyle and design brand that would be widely accessible to mass consumers. The "Waverly Signature Look," including the company's famous Glosheen chintzes, florals, stripes and plaids became synonymous with American décor, evolving into a legacy which represents quality and timelessness.

In the late 70s, Waverly worked with American award-winning designer Georges Briard whose calico patterns in home furnishings, dish wear and fabric had been commercialized for mass distribution in department stores such as Neiman Marcus. Briard created a series of signature pieces for Briard, such as this Kenyan colored cotton bark cloth.

  • 100% cotton olive top crown, khaki front panel, and crimson brim.
